Meet our Teachers



We are honored to have some of the best teachers in the DFW Metroplex and state leading our classes. Most of our teachers are local and some are nationally and internationally known. We are grateful to have such an incredible loving group of teachers at the Cosmic Yogi Festival sharing positive vibes.



Amanda Dunnavant



Restorative Yoga for Enriched Sense of Wellbeing

It’s all in the name! Turn to this class for restoration of body, mind, and soul through breathing practices, meditation, and supported yoga postures specifically designed to allow you to find safe and effective releases. Set to calming music, plan to walk away with an enriched sense of well-being. Lovely on it’s own, this class is also a great addition to your regular movement practices, contributing to a holistic sense of recovery and ease of movement.


Bio: Amanda studied at Ananda Seva Yoga Therapy in Santa Rosa, California and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She has also studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self Compassion which support and inform her teaching style. In addition to work in behavioral health and addiction recovery, Amanda has customized programs in many environments and is currently the Community Coordinator for Athleta Turtle Creek. Expect some Athleta swag to make your experience even more fun!

Let's be happy, envision peace and go with the flow all while having fun! Tye-dye, flower crowns, and anything hippie is encouraged!



Bio: Diane Barriere is an international yoga teacher who leads retreats, teacher trainings, and teaches group yoga classes, Aireal Yoga, corporate yoga, chair yoga, partner yoga, yoga parties, fundraisers, workshops and festivals.


She is a Level 1 Reiki Healer, Certified in 200 CYT, Chair Yoga and AIReal Yoga. Diane teachers at Reef Point Yoga, Yoga Chikitsa and 24 Hour Fitness.

Pilates Magic Circle

This is the mat version of the IM=X® Pilates system of exercise. This class uses your own body weight and the magic circle as you work through a variety of exercises. Focus will be on the core. Get ready for your abs to be torched!


Bio: Coleen is IM=X Basic Certified in both Floor and Xercizer. She was a gymnast for 17 years and easily transferred this energy to her love for fitness. Coleen has a favorite quote - "The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for!"

Bio: Supriya is a minister and main teacher at Ananda Center. She has been on this path of Self-Realization for over 27 years and has devoted her life to living and sharing the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. Trained as an Ananda Yoga instructor, meditation teacher and Raja Yoga instructor, Supriya is experienced in teaching beginning and advanced students. Her warm and relaxed manner is appreciated by everyone who comes to the center. Chakras workshops are her specialty and such a Joy to offer!

Bio: Bethanne has a combined love for fitness, dance, and health. She taught classical ballet for seven years before pursuing her certification as an ESSENTRICS® instructor, and has taught ESSENTRICS® classes in the Dallas area since 2013. She and her husband, Steve, have eight children, and five grandchildren.

LJ's "Signature" Rock Concert Yoga offers a Vinyasa Flow style yoga using the setting, the energy of the crowd and inspiring music to create a concert like experience. Ending with a SUPER CHILL Savasana! Guitars and glow sticks will be provided.


Bio: LJ is a registered E-RYT200, YACEP. and has been teaching yoga since 2006. He completed his 200hr Teacher Training with Chidanandi Sheri Cherokee, Vinyasa Flow Training with Seane Corn and is currently studying Parayoga with Rod Stryker.

Bio: Terri Arends holds a Master’s degree in Sports Management and serves as the J’s Group Fitness Director. As a multi-faceted fitness professional, she promotes well-being through group exercise and does so with certifications from NASM, Stroops, Spinning & Kettlebell Concepts –to name a few of the many specialized group exercise certifications she holds.

Bio: Gina Chew has been a professional fitness instructor for over 15 years, with certifications in multiple fitness formats. She is also a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. Gina has studied the styles of ballet, lyrical, contemporary, tap, hip hop and Latin dance. She is also an avid tennis player.

Bio: She first began teaching group fitness at Texas A&M University. When Lisa first experienced barre, she knew it was just the right fit for her as it combined her love for high-energy, musically-driven classes with the classic training she had learned from years of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. She later became a Master Trainer for PulsePointe barre, which has since become a part of Barre Above® program. She is a certified AFAA Group Exercise instructor and a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher. Lisa can be found teaching at the Aaron Jewish Community Center of Dallas, Cooper Fitness Center, TruFusion, Uptown Yoga, Craig Ranch Fitness.

Ricky will lecture on benefits of inversions with demonstrations of dozens of variations, followed by intermediate/advanced practice. Spectators can observe.


Bio: Ricky Tran is an internationally known yogi who has traveled extensively teaching his style of yoga. He is a serial yoga-preneur and is a Dallas native. Ricky began practicing in the mid 2000s and he sought out traditional masters of yoga to learn from. He has studied T Krishnamacharya's disciple lineages and is proficient in Hatha and Raja yoga...yoga of the body and mind.


Ricky conducts teacher trainings throughout the year, as well as, group classes, workshops and private classes. You can find him in a variety of locations and his personal studio.

Bio: Tyler is the owner and instructor at My Temple Yoga. She is a 200RYT with certifications in Y12SR and MBRP (mindfulness based relapse prevention). Tyler has over 1,000 teaching hours and over 100 CEU’s. She currently teaches 8-10 classes a week in studios, gyms and recovery centers. Tyler is a grateful, recovered alcoholic and my DOS is Sept. 23, 2014.

Bio: CC is a 200 RYT Yoga Instructor at Gaia Flow Yoga in Plano. She is also a Belly Dance and Group Exercise Instructor at Fit Choice USA in Carrollton. As a Belly Dancing teacher she guides classes to open their bodies and minds with expressive dance emphasizing fluid movements of the torso.

It's All About the Beat: Community Drum Circle

Miles Davis once said, "Time isn't the main thing. It's the only thing." Come join us as we fall into rhythm together and celebrate the sense community that springs from making music together. Bring you drums, shakers, tambourines, hands for clapping, or feet for dancing. No experience is required and little ones are always welcome in the circle.


Bio: A scholar from birth, Reverend Hitchcock, grew up being trained in multiple mystery schools, studying the religions and customs of the world, and how we as humans develop and build communitees. Returning to university as a grandmother, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in philosophy, is a certified yoga instructor, a drummer in residence at the Dallas Drum Djam, and is currently completing her Masters in Sociology at Texas Woman's University, focusing on African Drumming as a tool for community integration. Janice is a drummer in residence at the Dallas Drum Djam at the Green Elephant every Wednesday night from 9:30pm to 1:30am. She also offers custom tailored classes at clients requests.

Bio: Brianna Apsara is a fire spinning belly dancer. She has studied with some world renowned teachers for belly dance and yoga and received certifications to teach. She is the winner of the David Starfire dance contest for her blend of dance and flow arts. She coleads Fempyre, a female collective of fire and flow artists.

Bio: Jay La Vie, based out of Horizon Hot Yoga in Frisco, and is a certified yoga instructor. He has spent time training and teaching in multiple parts of the world. In the past couple of years, he has traveled to Huntington Beach, NYC, Denver, the South of France, Mexico, Miami, and Hawaii. His main practices are Sacred Geometry, Ashtanga, Rocket Yoga and one of his favorite classes to teach is Fire Flow.

Bio: Lynn began her love and passion for yoga 18 years ago. Lynn loves finding new and exciting ways to practice yoga and share her passion. Along the way she took her practice off the floor with aerial sling yoga and soon opened her own studio in Mansfield. Sunshine Yoga Shack is a studio open to anyone wanting to learn and practice yoga and aerial yoga with an open heart and an open mind. Lynn is a RYT-500, E RYT-500, and YACEP, Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer. Lynn is certified in Prenatal Yoga, Seniors Yoga, Thai Body Work, Reiki, and is an Aerial Yoga Specialist.

This class is a breath based movement combining elements of yoga, Pilates, martial arts & body weight strengthening taught to scale for accessibility with a focus on smooth transitions.​


Joshua is a 500 Hr RYT & 200 Hr ERYT Instructor whose passion for teaching extends from a simple theory: “A well lived life requires awareness, and awareness on the mat is most readily available with physical challenges.” His practice helps him rediscover the vitality he enjoyed as an active youth, and the peace Joshua discovers in overcoming challenges on the mat translates into great leaps of faith in his personal and professional life. It is this connection with the practice that he shares when guiding, as well as the fun of exploration, movement, and defying gravity mentally and physically. Joshua believes what makes us great is our uniqueness, and enjoys tailoring his instruction to the needs of the room while offering even the most timid yogis a glimpse of the grand potential within themselves.

Susan Price Martin

Susan is also affectionately known as the "Goat Lady". She created Happy Goat Yoga after seeing a video and found out there were none offered in Texas. The craze hadn't caught on yet. Susan knew it would be a great way to raise money for her charity, Here's Your Reminder. The organization focuses on being mental health advocates especially for those suffering with depression. Goats were the answer! The contagious smiles and stress relief the Goat Yoga classes offered were amazingly fun! Who couldn't have a good time with a baby goat playfully jumping on you?


Never done yoga? Don't worry, everyone is too busy playing with cute goats to notice!


Enjoy the class and remember it helps advocate for mental health.

Marty Bernard



Chula Hoop Demonstraton

As the founder of Chula Hoops USA Marty saw the need for a much improved hoop that was balanced and would make it easier and more fun to use. So, she created the Chula Hoop! Marty's Hoop Group can be seen at festivals throughout Texas and they often travel across the country. They were feature performers at the Texas State Fair with spinning a dozen hoops at one time...how do they do that! You will have to see it first hand and see for yourself. Stop by their vendor booth and give the hoops a try. Anyone can hoop it!


Marty is originally from Costa Rica and her fellow hoopers are also from there.

Pups N Pilates

Zoe is Co-Teaching the Pups N Pilates class and is a friend of Pooch Savers founded by Lisa Brooks. It is an animal rescue group who brings the puppies and doggies who romp around in the class.


Join the class for fun and lots of licks from your new furry friends. Then feel free to take your new best friend home because they are all up for adoption.

It's Happy the very smiley puppy. This good boy is always happy to do a Pilates or Yoga class with his fellow friends and yogis. His favorite position...the downward dog...of course. Happy is a fan of Pooch Savers and Lisa Brooks the founder. Many of his friends have been adopted through this organization.


Get hugs, snuggles and give pets during Pups N Pilates class. Happy will continue to hang around you until you do. It's alright though...you won't be able to resist.

Gregory is from England and BAAAHHHAAAAs with an accent. The lady goats think it's very cute so Gregory is quite a catch in the goat world.

Blanco is a Dallasite, and a city goat who loves Happy Goat Yoga. He is a regular at the classes participating as often as he is able. Blanco loves to be fed by everyone and is the highest hopper in the group! So be careful doing the table top or downward dog around him because he will jump right on your back!


Happy Goat Yoga is presented by It's for Charity! Events advocating for mental health. Blanco is so excited to help because his sister often struggles with highs and lows of depression.


Blanco is ready to meet you and he will try really hard not to poop on your mat.
